And now, the rest of the family history, starting with...

Grandma

Estelle Elizabeth Kelley

youngest child of Lizzie Connellan and Tom Kelley, was born April 1913, when the family resided at 32 Dymon Street, Springfield, MA. She was the youngest of five children. At the time of her birth, her father's occupation was listed as teamster. She attended the High School of Commerce, and when she graduated in 1930, she went to work for the telephone company. After a lively youth of dancing and parties, she married William Henry Grady on June 1937 and had a number of children.

Grandpa

William Henry Grady

born June 1919, only child of William Henry Grady, a fireman in Springfield, and Mae Agnes Moore, her second marriage. Their marriage did not last, and both died in 1955. William Jr. married Estelle Elizabeth Kelley of Springfield on June 1937.

They lived at 430 Union Street, Springfield, MA until 1962 when they moved to 35 Ellendale Circle, Springfield. Bill worked for the U. S. Post Office as a letter carrier. In 1951, Stell went back to the New England Telephone Company where she worked until she retired in 1978. Bill died November 30, 1981 and is buried in St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield. In February 1988, Stell moved to the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow suffering from an Alzheimer's-like condition. She passed away on August 22, 1996 and remains dearly beloved and remembered by her relatives; two such remembrances are included on this webpage.
